Meet Kimberly Ray

By Kelly Fernandez

SAN MARCOS — Kimberly Ray is a sophomore at Texas State University studying Public Relations in the fine arts and communications department. Originally from Harlingen, Texas, Kimberly was a student at Harlingen High School where she participated in the color guard and attended two state competitions.

Kimberly was first inspired to pursue a degree in public relations at Texas State University when she came across a student’s Instagram that showcased their experimental photography. Another inspiration for her came from her high school yearbook class where she says her teacher promoted creativity with the students and served as a role model.

Kimberly showcases her skill with InDesign through her position as Apparel Officer for her sorority Sigma Phi Lambda. She also works for the Texas State recycling center, giving back to the community by picking up recyclables around campus.

Outside of school, Kimberly works as a seasonal intern at Lone Star National Bank where she prepares confidential documents for review in the Bank Secrecy Act department. She also enjoys tweeting on the regular and following various vloggers and beauty channels on YouTube.

After graduating, Kimberly hopes to work for the PR firm Weber Shandwick in Austin, Texas where her experience and talent in the creative space will be utilized.
