From Mexico to New Jersey and now Texas, Gaby Flores is a bilingual first-generation student at Texas State. Born in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, her family immigrated to the states where her father saved up money working in construction.
She made the move to College Station with her sister and only a suitcase in hand. Rooming with her sister, she attended Blinn College and volunteered at the humane society. During her time at the human society she helped with Equestrian therapy for children with special needs. Gaby’s love for animals began when she was a child in New Jersey with Trixie, a standard French Poodle.
Gaby stays busy throughout the year as she is double majoring in Spanish and mass communication at Texas State. When she's not busy drowning in school work, she enjoys San Marcos’ many hiking trails with her Great Pyrenees, as well as tennis.
Her family's adventurous blood runs through Gaby as she works to become a travel as a translator. Gaby hopes to visit Brazil, Costa Rica, Argentina and many other South American countries. Fascinated by their way of life, she aims to indulge herself in their culture.
