By JONATHAN PARKS

SAN MARCO-Corey Joseph Koif was born in Palestine, Texas He is a senior Advertising major at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, where he has lived for the past five years. He is minoring in Psychology.

His life outside of school includes promoting for After Dark Promotions, in which he promotes concerts and events at a venue called The Marc in downtown San Marcos. This job directly correlates with his major and gives him the opportunity to explore his job options in the future.

Corey Koif is also a shift leader at Cheer and Chow, a local bar and restaurant. Working in the service industry also connects to his major in advertising because it provides a strong social environment and lets him get to know people.

In his earlier life, Koif attended Palestine high school, where he played football and baseball. He graduated high school in 2012, placing in the top ten in his class. His stellar academic performance is what got him into Texas State.

Being social plays a very big role in Corey Koif’s life, which led him to rush and join the fraternity Sigma Nu. He is a part of the Eta Tau chapter.

Koif enjoys living life to the fullest, but when his schedule gets too hectic, he likes to just, in his words, “kick it”. He also enjoys eating his weight in kolaches
