Tessa Andrade is finding her voice in sports media

SAN MARCOS- Tessa Andrade started her broadcasting career in high school where she attended J. Frank Dobie High School in Houston, TX. Andrade joined her schools broadcast journalism club her junior year and quickly grew a passion for all things mass media.

 Andrade first started off reporting for the boys soccer team and anchoring for the weekly newscast. Her senior year, she was promoted to lead sports reporter and a member of the editing staff.


When she graduated from high school in 2012, Andrade decided to pursue her passion for broadcasting majoring in mass communications at Texas State University. While at Texas State, Tessa Andrade has had a variety of mass media experience.

Andrade has been employed by KTSW 89.9 for three years now, she is the Sports Videographer for the University Star and was the Public Relations Chairmen for Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. In addition to her involvement with these Texas State organizations, Andrade is a correspondent for ESPNU Campus Connection where she receives great insight from sports broadcasting professionals.

With her experience and passion for sports media, Tessa Andrade hopes to have a successful career in the sports broadcasting industry in the near future.


Tessa Andrade’s expected graduation date is May, 2016.
