By: Carlos Marquez III San Marcos-Bobcat Promotions has announced their first trip into the Public Relations field. The organization plans to gain experience by meeting with several PR speakers in New York City. Bobcat Promotions Faculty advisor and Trip coordinator Charles Kaufman held a press conference where he announced trip dates, the purpose of the trip and answered questions that the media had. The group departs January fourth, will meet with speakers the fifth through the ninth and return later that day of the ninth. Kaufman believes the trip will be eye-opening and will help the members of Bobcat Promotions gain experience. "I want the students to come in contact with many facets," Kaufman said, "Some students have never stepped out of their hometown.. It will be a slice of the real world." The members will meet with speakers from Oogly PR, the New York Mets and UN Deputy Communication director Stephan Djarric. The members will gain experience from a real career field and will get to learn from some of the professionals. The students have been asked to budget $600 to cover air fare, lodging and various trip expenses which will also include a trip to the 9/11 memorial museum.
