SAN MARCOS—Bobcat Promotions students plan to gain real life knowledge and make connections on a trip to New York City, NY.
Bobcat Promotions trip is set to be January 4-9th. Senior Lecturer, Charles Kaufman is the faculty advisor for Bobcat Promotions and discussed some of the events they plan to do during their time In New York.
One of the events that are included in the trip is to visit the 9/11 memorial, as well as meet Stephane Dijarric who has worked in broadcast with NBC.
People eligible for the trip are juniors and seniors that have been with Bobcat Promotions within a year. He encourages freshman to stay, not just for the trips but the knowledge they will gain in the organization.
One of Kaufman’s goals is for the students to be able to contact and engage in different aspects in public relations and find what they really want to do in media.
Kaufman explained that Bobcat Promotions could help solve problems, get hands on experience with clients and making sure they are successful.
“Eye opener, big agencies, small agencies…fashion, music. Its important to expand peoples horizon,” Kaufman said.
Kaufman encourages people that are not PR majors to join Bobcat Promotions as well.
