Writing for Mass Media student
SAN MARCOS - A trip that includes Oglivy Public Relations, the New York Mets and a visit to the United Nations is on the agenda for Bobcat Promotions on their trip to New York City. Senior Lecturer and Bobcat Promotions Director Charles Kaufman will lead a group of 15-16 students to these meetings.
"A slice of the real world." Kaufman said when talking about how the trip will be beneficial to the student going. This trip is open to juniors and seniors in Bobcat Promotions with a few exceptions. The trip will have a United Nations meeting with Stéphane Dujarric Spokesperson for the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
"More tools than the tool box." Kaufman said.
When asked about if this trip is just for Public Relations majors Kaufman said, it would be a great experience for anyone on the trip. Non- Public Relations advantages are dealing with real clients problems, skills in teamwork and entrepreneurism.
"New York is the media capital of the world." Kaufman said. "This trip will be eye opening."
The trip is scheduled for January 4th through 9th costing each student around $600. Students will be able to site see on their own during free time.
