Michael “Burnie” Burns will speak at Texas State University as apart of the Mass Communication week events. He is one of the co-founders of Rooster Teeth Productions and will talk about online media and what we can expect in the future from it.
Rooster Teeth Productions is a group of guys based out of Austin TX who have taken independent film making into a whole new field. It’s set within the videogame world of Halo 3 to be precise. Their actors are the red and blue soldiers in the popular game, and they choreograph the movies of the video game characters to fit with their storyline and post the videos on their Web site.
It’s part of a growing fad called Machinima (machine + cinema) and whether it uses Halo 3, The Sims, or Second Life, computers capture the action and the shots are edited together to create a story.
